Royal Caribbean Cruise on Independence of the Seas

If there’s one thing I love about Royal Caribbean ships, it’s this: boredom is not an option. Whether you’re all about adventure or just not the lounging-by-the-pool type, Royal Caribbean delivers nonstop fun from sunrise to well past sunset.

Our getaway on Independence of the Seas may have been just three nights, but it was packed with unforgettable moments—especially our stop at the incredible Perfect Day at CocoCay. This private island is exclusively for Royal Caribbean guests, and yes, it absolutely lives up to the name.

With seven stunning beaches, a thrilling waterpark, and even a floating bar, there’s no shortage of things to do—but we chose to chill in style at the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean. We arrived early, scored prime lounge chairs under an umbrella, and spent the day swimming, sipping drinks at the swim-up bar, and sampling the tasty bites. Pure paradise!

Back on board, we kicked off every morning with a relaxing breakfast and wrapped up our evenings with elegant dinners in the gorgeous main dining room. We caught an incredible production of Grease (seriously Broadway-worthy!) and challenged ourselves in the Observatorium, Royal Caribbean’s ultimate escape room experience—highly recommended for puzzle lovers.

Our group went all-out and stayed in the luxurious Royal Suite, which came with a baby grand piano, a private Jacuzzi on the balcony, and so much space we almost forgot we were on a ship!

Looking to turn up the adrenaline? Don’t miss the FlowRider surf simulator or the heart-pounding Perfect Storm waterslides. And for foodies, Independence of the Seas is a dream: savor fresh sushi at Izumi, indulge in prime cuts at Chops Grille, or kick back at Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade with burgers and games. Oh, and don’t forget to stop by Sugar Beach—because no cruise is complete without a little something sweet.

In short: whether you’re chasing thrills, relaxing in luxury, or just soaking up the sun with a cocktail in hand, Independence of the Seas delivered an epic vacation experience from start to finish.
